SKEWEN PARK CENTENARY:  Monday 4th MAY 2026  11a.m. – 5.00p.m.

May 2026 will mark the centenary of the official opening of Skewen Park. As part of Coedffranc Town Council celebrations, Skewen & District Historical Society will be putting up a photographic display in the Memorial Hall showing images of the park throughout the last hundred years. Skewen’s Silent Soldier

We are pleased to announce that Skewen now has its own silent soldier as a reminder of the fallen of the village in two world wars and other conflicts.  The soldier was procured by the Society, funded by the Friends of Skewen Group and attached to the Carnegie Community Centre by Coedffranc Town Council,  Thanks to all involved.

 

 

Society visit to the Newport Ship Museum 17.6.2025

Society members enjoyed a trip to the Newport Medieval Ship Project yesterday where we were given an interesting and informative guided tour.
