Thanks to Social Secretary Ann Harries for organising another very interesting Society visit, this month to Aberglasney Gardens.
The Society is very pleased to announce that it has been successful in obtaining a grant from Awards For All: The Big Lottery Fund to run a programme of visits to celebrate its 20th anniversary year. Currently the visits will include:
Further details will be given in the next meeting to be held at the Carnegie Hall on August 7th.
The Society expresses its great appreciation to the National Lottery organisation for enabling this programme of visits to take place.
On May 6th, the Society was invited once again to take part in the annual Family History Event at the Waterfront Museum. This enables us to showcase the Society’s activities to a wider audience.
The Society was very pleased that the Lord Lieutenant Byron Davies and his wife Hilary were able to accept our invitation to join us at the Towers Hotel for the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Society’s founding. We were given a very interesting and informative talk on the Lord Lieutenant’s personal history and his role as Lord Lieutenant.
