CELEBRATING THE CENTENARY OF SKEWEN PARK

On May the 4th Skewen celebrated the centenary of the opening of its park.  The Council provided outdoor attractions and the Society provided a photographic display of the park and Skewen from the 1920’s on.

S&DHS 30th ANNIVERSARY Calendar 2027:

“It’s never to early to buy a calendar for next year! S&DHS has produced a celebration calendar for it’s upcoming 30th Anniversary. Colourful art work by local artist David Massey depict familiar Skewen and district landmarks on every page.

The calendars will be on sale near the Society’s photographic display in the MEMORIAL HALL in SKEWEN PARK during the Skewen Park centenary celebrations this Monday 4th May 11.00am to 5.00pm. COST – £5.00 Part of the proceeds will go to Ty Olwen Hospice at the request of the artist.

Why not get one for yourself or as a gift or souvenir for family and friends…”

Skewen’s Silent Soldier

We are pleased to announce that Skewen now has its own silent soldier as a reminder of the fallen of the village in two world wars and other conflicts.  The soldier was procured by the Society, funded by the Friends of Skewen Group and attached to the Carnegie Community Centre by Coedffranc Town Council,  Thanks to all involved.
